Why advertise, if times are tough?
Advertising is extremely important in our competitive world, for both seller and buyer. For the consumer, advertising can keep them informed about new products and services available at their disposal, and helps spread awareness of new businesses, services, special events and more. For sellers, it creates awareness about their business to the public, promotes enthusiasm in growing their business by focusing on it, challenges their competition and it can return business growth by expanding into new territories, bringing in new clientele and forging trust and loyalty in the community.
When there's an economic downturn, executives cut their ad budgets, without realizing how much harm it can cause them in the long run. During difficult times, it's more important than ever to boost your marketing campaign and remind consumers why they need to visit your business (there are many great ways to achieve this!). And in changing economic conditions consumers are willing to reconsider brand loyalties, so advertising makes all the more sense.
If you have advertised your business before but have not received response, it may be due to a number of reasons: The medium you chose wasn't delivering the message effectively; you didn't study your demographic or target reach; it may even be because your ad was sloppy, overly worded or poorly designed.
